A few days ago my sisters, my mom,and I went to Sunset Bay on Lake Erie. From the parking lot you walk to a path that leads you to a small beach.
Standing by the water. I'm the middle one. Right when we walked on to the beach Mom found some sea glass! At first I couldn't find any at all. But once I got closer to the water there was more and more.
Here's Trin picking up some sea-glass. First I found lots of white ones and then I found a few greens and then I noticed something purple I walked towards it and realized it was purple sea glass! When I showed it to my mom she said it was too sharp and threw it back into the water. After that I was kind of upset but that gave me the motive to find an even better one!
When we were walking back to the path I found a dark blue piece. When I showed my mom she told me it was colbalt, one of the rarest kinds. I was very happy!
After that we went to a restaurant in Gowanda, NY called the Olympia. We got calamari to share and I had chicken fingers and fries. The most interesting thing though was my drink...it was Loganberry juice. It tastes like a mix of cherry and other kinds of fruit. I give it a thumbs up!
On the way home we went up and down some very tall hills. My sisters and I screamed really loud like we were on a roller coaster. This was definitely one of the most fun adventures we've ever had!

Sea-glass is one of my very favorite things ever. Hey, do you think they should call this glass "lake-glass"?

Recently, when Finn, Ian, Uncle Jon and I were at the beach, Finn and I spent a long time collecting... beach plastic. Not litter, but tiny little bits of hard, colored plasic that had been tossed around in the ocean and worn smooth. All colors! -- blue, orange, green, red, pink.

Hey, maybe we should go to this lake-glass beach when Finn and I are home in August.

Cool! Your adventure sounds really fun. I also think you are a great storyteller. That loganberry drink sounds interesting...I'll have to try it sometime if I'm ever in your neck of the woods.

We love to hunt for sea glass too!!! I have never, ever found a purple one and I would have cried if your mom threw it back into the water.

Hi Rowan, What a great trip to Lake Erie. Lake Erie seemed so far when I was your age. We never got there as even going to Allegany State Park was a big excursion. The roads and cars were old and now you can get places faster. I'm forwarding your mom's email to Daniel and James and family. Maybe you'll hear from them! Bella still remembers her fun trip two years ago. Jimmy reads A LOT of books. They were here swimming and in the rowboat recently. Love, Aunt Kathy
